Lettuce

Prompt from Poetic Bloomings: write about what your planting (literal or figurative) has produced

Seeds,
baptized in rain,
fertilized,
incubated in sunshine.

Seeds sprout,
baby green faces
peeking out,
born to the world.

Sprouts soar,
nursing on springtime,
burgeoning,
wind-tossed salad.

  5. Loved your take on the prompt, Elizabeth, and I admire your talent for growing things. Me, I have a "brown thumb," so I love people who have a green thumb. And home-grown lettuce? There's nothing like it, adding some chives, parsley, and other herbs as well (the only things I can't kill!). Amy
