Masquerade

Prompt from Writers Island: masquerade
Inspired by "Masquerade" from Phantom of the Opera

Splashes of words
In a crowd of poetry

Lyrical shadows of
Rhythm and rhyme
Colored with ambiguity

Arrayed in adjectives
Adorned with adverbs
Flirting and dancing with
Ideas and descriptions

Poignant flamboyancy
Costumed and veiled
Posed on papery stage

In a crowd of poetry
Splashes of words

  3. Thanks Viv & Amanda. I have no idea if there is a name for this structure - it's just how the poem wanted to be written!

  4. This is just lovely; and I liked your comment about this is the way the poem wanted to be written. I experience that too, oftentimes; and there is no arguing!
